The first step in your defense against the elements. Self-adhering underlayment is installed at vulnerable areas of your roof to create a watertight barrier. This helps prevent leaks from wind-driven rain and ice dams.

Here in Hampton Roads, it's not necessary to put Ice and Water Shield on the eaves of all roofs.

Water-Resistant Synthetic Underlayment

Next, a high-performance water resistant underlayment is installed over the entire roof deck. This layer repels moisture and acts as a secondary protective barrier against leaks.

Starter Shingles

After Underlayment the first course of Starter Shingles are installed. These cover the most wind-vulnerable areas of the roof and are designed to work in tandem with the roof shingles above for optimal shingle sealing and performance and to prevent blow off.

Ventilation

A roof that breathes is shown to perform better and last longer. Ridge Vents, in combination with Soffit or Intake Vents, creates a balanced ventillation system that allows air to flow on the underside of your roof deck. This helps keep your attic cooler in the summer, drier in the winter, and helps reduce your energy bills.
